Friends of cross bar Goals

Our first goal is to raise the funds needed to build safe, reliable access to the Cross Bar Special Recreation Management Area (SRMA). Funding will come from both public and private sources, but we cannot do this without your help.

Every contribution brings us closer to unlocking federal grant funding and opening Texas’ only Bureau of Land Management land to the public.

Once access is built, fundraising  will be directed to approved BLM Cross Bar SRMA projects. These investments will support infrastructure construction and site improvements that benefit the public, ensuring safe, equitable, and sustainable recreational use of this federally managed land.

Opening the Cross Bar SRMA is just the beginning. Friends of Cross Bar is committed to supporting the area for years to come by:

• Funding future amenities and infrastructure improvements 
• Organizing volunteer workdays and stewardship projects 
• Supporting educational programs and public stewardship initiatives
• Partnering with the Bureau of Land Management to maintain trails, improve facilities, and protect natural resources

Our ongoing partnership with the Bureau of Land Management will help ensure that Cross Bar remains a safe, accessible, and well-managed public recreation destination for generations to come.
